I know TOM* (Toronto Men's Fashion Week) happened a month ago, but hey, better late than never amiright? I just wanted to share with you my experience attending TOM* S/S '17 Collection. Anyways, this was my first ever fashion week that's I've attended of course. I know it's nothing like New York / London / Paris fashion week, but I'll take what I can get and this great enough for me.The closest thing to attending fashion week before this was actually volunteering at Toronto Fashion Week last season in March, which sadly, was the very last season. From being on clean up duty to backstage dresser at Toronto Fashion Week, to now actually an attendee to TOM* was really a big step for me. Being able to experience every aspect of the fashion show was interesting (of course the clean up duty wasn't as much).Although I did not attend all the shows, the one I did were spectacular. Just taking in the fact that I've always wanted to attend fashion shows, being more exposed to the industry was more than I could ever ask for.Like any other shows, I was just amazed on the creativity of the collections each designer brought to the table. Even though it doesn't look as much, you know there's a large amount of work put into it. Like art - you sometimes look an art piece and think to yourself: that looks like something I could've done - don't really know where I'm going with this but do you understand what I mean? Probably not. Some of the highlights during TOM*. I really enjoyed the TOM* BeatleMania, Joao Paulo Guedes, Finezza, and the Hendrixroe shows. Each show brought different and unique designs, separating themselves from the others. Not your regular suit and tie / or just menswear you would see on the streets. What I loved about the BeatleMania was that it was a variety of designers who participated in this show brought out one or two signature outfits from their collections, giving me a chance to get a peek of the other designer's collections. All in all, I felt very thankful to be able to experience all this and meet Joao Paolo - one of the designers. Hopefully I'll be able to attend next season's show. My ultimate goal you ask? NYFW / LFW / PFW.
