Make Beauty Review
To start off, I just want to say that I'm no beauty guru. Although I don't know which brands are the best or know the difference between different foundations, I can at least say what I love about these products and why I recommend you to try it out.Let me first introduce a bit of MAKE Beauty. They are a beauty brand originated in New York. They are paraben-free and is against animal testings, with 10% of their sales donated to the We See Beauty Foundation, supporting women-led worker-owned cooperate businesses across America.I discovered this brand from following @thegreylayers on Instagram. I checked out MAKE's Instagram, and I'm gonna be totally honesty with you, I really liked their aesthetics on their feed so I looked into their website to check out their products. I usually don't purchase make-up online, especially brands I've never tried. But after looking thoroughly, I decided to give them a shot. What I purchased: Detoxify & Condition, Marine Salve, Matte Lipstick, Lip Primer, Face Gloss, Defining Mascara, Sculpting Lash & Brow Gel, with a free Gel Eyeliner Pencil. One downside about my purchases was that the shipping fee with tax to Canada was uber expensive. Thankfully I had some fam friends visiting Toronto, so I asked them to bring it with them on their trip here. Ok enough of my blabber, I'm gonna review each product.
Detoxify & Condition | Marine Salve:
This was pretty much a lip scrub along with a balm to apply afterwards. The sea salt exfoliator was soothing and so nourishing to the lips. When I was using it, I could feel the sea salt while massaging it on my lips. Because the exfoliator was already nourishing enough after I rinsed it off, I actually didn't even need to wear lip balm. But just in case of any dryness after, I applied on the marine salve - which was basically an everything balm for any dryness you find on your skin. I apply it every night before I sleep and my lips were still so smooth and nourished the next day - no chapped or dryness at all.
Defining Mascara | Sculpting Lash & Brow Gel
Usually, I would wear eyeliner as my everyday look along with mascara of course. But ever since I started using the the defining mascara, I barley even used my eyeliner (mainly cause I'm too lazy), but this mascara actually is so defining and rich that it pretty much looks like I'm wearing light eyeliner if that makes sense. As for the sculpted lash and brow gel, it keeps my lashes curled and brows in place, it also prevents from having that light mascara under eye tint from blinking too much.
Lip Primer | Matte Lipstick
Lipstick is life for me. We all know that lipstick usually comes off pretty easily when you're eating/drinking something in general. The lip primer really helps the colour stay on more as well as showing more of the pigment.
Face Gloss | Eyeliner
Since dewy is the new "look" I decided to try it out. Equivalent to a highlighter, you literally just apply anywhere on your skin that you want shine/gloss on. When you want to look put together but too lazy to apply on a full face of makeup, just apply on some tinted moisturizer/foundation, apply some face gloss and you're set! Effortless, casual, yet still keeping that shine. I got the eyeliner from exceeding over their minimum spend as a free gift. Since the only colour, I pretty much wear for eyeliner is black, that was the colour I went with. The pen is very smooth when drawing, and definitely pigmented enough. So this pretty much sums up my review on these products (not sponsored). Out of all these products, my faves are the defining mascara and the sculpting gel. High key running out of the sculpting mascara and I don't know what to do. Tbh, I would purchase more of their products if the shipping to Canada wasn't that expensive.
